December 14, 2022 Law Enforcement from all over Siskiyou County came together for the annual Shop With a Cop (SWAC). If you are wondering what SWAC is, it’s a program that pairs selected children with officers to shop for the holidays. The night of the event, children are partnered with a law enforcement officer from Siskiyou County.
This year’s officers were from Yreka Police Department, Siskiyou County Sheriff’s Office, Etna Police Department, Etna, California, Lake Shastina Police Department, Mount Shasta Police Department, Tulelake Police Department, CHP - Yreka, US Forest Service, CA Fish and Wildlife, and Siskiyou County Probation. Over 50 children were able to shop for themselves and their families this year because of this program.
This year’s recipient from Dunsmuir Elementary was Rablo Rojas. Rablo is one of those students who works hard and his positive attitude is contagious. Congratulations, Rablo!
