Due to the weather, we are postponing picture retakes until Tuesday, December 13th. Pictures will be taken first thing in the morning so please make sure your children are on time if you are wanting their pictures taken. See the attached flyer for more information.
Picture Makeup Day is Thursday 12/8 for those who missed the first one. If you would still like to order your child’s school pictures, there are order forms in the office.
Please disregard the previous message. The bus will be running at the regular time. All students will be held in SAFE until the bus leaves or until picked up by a parent or guardian. We apologize for the confusion.
Due to the weather conditions and the minimum day schedule, the afternoon bus will be running at 1:15 today. SAFE will be available as usual if needed.
Dunsmuir Elementary will have a 10:00 start today due to snow and freeway conditions. The bus schedule will run 1.5 hours later than the usual time. Be safe.
DES will be on a 10 a.m. start this morning. This means the bus will run 1 1/2 hour later than regular schedule. Be safe.
Reminder: Today is a MINIMUM DAY. TK-3 will be dismissed at 12:45 and 4-8 is dismissed at 1:00. There will be NO SAFE Program today and NO AFTERNOON BUS will be running. All students will need to be picked up upon dismissal. If you are unable to pick up your child, please call the office so we can arrange other transportation.
Transportation Update: Due to a driver shortage for the afternoon run, the one bus that is running will be a little behind schedule today. Please be patient and considerate as the driver is doing the best they can do. Thank you for your understanding.
We were just notified by DHS that the Central (Black) and South (Blue) Dunsmuir buses down. The North (Green) bus driven by Castle Rock is still running. Please call the office at 7:30 if your child needs a ride and we will arrange transportation. We apologize for the last minute notice.
Picture make-ups will be taken on December 8th for those students who missed the original picture day. Volleyball pictures will also be taken on this day. Please come by the office prior to 12/8 to pick up an order form if you need one.
All students who were present at school today were photographed. If you missed out on ordering, don't fret! You can still pick up an order form from the office and get your child's pictures. Stop by and grab one next week!

Due to DHS's early dismissal, the bus will pick up all students at 2:45. If your child is not taking the bus, they must be picked up from SAFE or the classroom. SAFE is available as usual. There is a LIVE WIRE down on Siskiyou Avenue making it unsafe for students to walk home.

Cards are mailed out in groups based on age and first
name. Children ages 0–6 will start getting cards in
October. Cards for school-aged children will be mailed

Due to unexpected bus issues, we will not have a Central Dunsmuir/Black Route bus run tomorrow afternoon. If you're unable to secure other transportation, please contact the office (1-530-235-4828) and we will arrange a ride home for your child at 2:45. We apologize for the inconvenience.

There have been a few revisions to the bus schedule. The new schedule will go into effect Wednesday. I will be sending home a paper copy today. We appreciate your patience while we work out the kinks as we figure out how to best serve all of our student's transportation needs.
